NEOPLASTIA MALIGNA, EVOLUÇÃO! (MALIGNANT NEOPLASTY)
"If everyone brings their piece
of paradise, we make a paradise"
During the short period of hospitalization in
St. James I had all the support of all the staff who were fantastic with me,
from prevention and diagnosis to treatments and palliative care. I had the
support of nurse Sophie, 32 years old, working in the field of oncology, an
excellent person, a good professional who, as far as possible, has tried to
relieve my pain as well as my physical and emotional suffering, ensuring a close
therapeutic relationship, I had confidences with her about my life and, on that
day, tears ended up sliding down my face, she was sad, cleaned my eyes and
kissed my cheek saying: I'm liking you, Fernando. For a week we walked in the
gardens and talked, we talked a lot! Two days ago, Sophie told me that she
really liked living with me, and even getting married, that she was single, had
no commitments with anyone in her life and her house was very big for both of
us! And that she loved me very much!
I've been thinking about everything, I'm not
doing it correctly with Sophie, I'm 74 and you're 32 years old, at my
daughter's age... I won't live long and... I wouldn't like to leave a widow...
I wish you all the best in your life, I appreciate all the support, affection
and love! We ended everything as good friends.
Thus, I will no longer undergo further
treatments, including chemotherapy, they advised me to stay with my family,
rest and live life peacefully, however, I should continue with regular
appointments at the IPO, St James's Hospital sent a detailed report today, in
the meantime... they discharged me for Friday, I still travel to Lisbon, in the
late afternoon.
